Temporary Closure of the Slip Road Leading from Fo Tan
to Kowloon and Tsuen Wan Direction of
Tai Po Road - Sha Tin (Southbound) with Alternative Routes


Date: 1 February 2024

(Implementation Period: 7.00 am on 11 February 2024 to 6.00 am on 14 February 2024)

In order to facilitate the construction works under “Road Widening and Retrofitting Noise Barriers on Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section)” project, the slip road leading from Fo Tan Road to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Southbound) and a section of fast lane of Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Southbound) near Wo Che Estate would be temporarily closed from 7.00 am on 11 February 2024 to 6.00 am on 14 February 2024 for erection of noise barrier and road resurfacing.

During the construction period, the affected carriageway will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic. All vehicles shall take the alternative routes to Kowloon (West) and Tsuen Wan with the following temporary traffic arrangements (refer to the attached Figure):

  1. Ban Turning
    1. All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from Fo Tan Road (Eastbound) to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Southbound)
    2. All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making left turn movement from Fo Tan Road (Westbound) to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Southbound)
  2. Traffic Diversion
    1. Vehicles towards Tsuen Wan Direction will be diverted via Yuen Wo Road (Southbound) and Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound)
    2. Vehicles towards Kowloon (West) Direction will be diverted via Tai Chung Kiu Road , Lion Rock Tunnel Road and Sha Tin Centre Street

Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists in the above mentioned location during the temporary road diversion.
