Temporary Closure Arrangement of Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section)
near Lek Yuen Estate to Wai Wah Centre (Kowloon / Tsuen Wan Direction)
Implementation Period : 1 a.m. to 5:15 a.m. on 20 August 2023 (Sunday)
In order to facilitate the construction works under “Road Widening and Retrofitting Noise Barriers on Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section)” project, a section of Tai Po Road - Sha Tin travelling towards Kowloon and Tsuen Wan between Lek Yuen Estate and Wai Wah Centre would be temporarily closed from 1 a.m. to 5:15 a.m. on 20 August 2023 for installation of a new sign gantry (location refer to the attached Figure).
During the works period, the abovementioned section of carriageway (all traffic lanes towards Kowloon and Tsuen Wan) will be temporarily closed for vehicles. The following traffic diversion arrangements will be implemented (refer to the attached Figure):
- Affected vehicles of Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section) to Tsuen Wan direction travelling to Shing Mun Tunnel Road will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road → Tai Chung Kiu Road → Che Kung Miu Road → Mei Tin Road → Tai Po Road (Tai Wai Section) → Lion Rock Tunnel;
- Affected vehicles of Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section) to Kowloon direction travelling to Tsing Sha Highway will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road → Tai Chung Kiu Road → Lion Rock Tunnel Road → Tai Po Road (Tai Wai Section) → Tsing Sha Highway.
Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists.
